⚡ Quick Start
  1. Power the unit with 12–24V DC on the VIN terminal.
  2. On first boot it starts an Access Point: KPJ-Irrigation (password: kpjautomation).
  3. Connect your phone or laptop and go to http://192.168.4.1
  4. Tap WiFi in the nav bar and enter your network credentials.
  5. After restart, visit http://kpjirrigation.local or the IP shown in the header.
  6. Go to Settings to name zones, assign digital input functions, and configure schedules.
  7. Switch to AUTO mode — schedules run automatically.

⚠ Relay contacts rated 10A / 250VAC. Solenoid valves above 10A need an external contactor.
💡 All NPN inputs are optocoupler-isolated. 24V sensors connect directly — sensor common/negative to GND. Input goes LOW (active) when sensor is ON.
🔌 Digital Input Functions

Each of IN1–IN4 can be independently assigned in Settings.

FunctionWiringBehaviour
DisabledLeave openInput completely ignored.
Flow MeterHall-effect pulse sensor → IN, +5V, GNDISR pulse counter. Divides by K-factor (pulses/litre) to track volume and flow rate.
Float / Stop SwitchFloat switch → IN, GNDWhen active: immediately stops all running zones.
Rain SensorRain sensor NC output → IN, GNDWhen active: inhibits all scheduled runs. Manual control still works.
Pressure SwitchLow-pressure NC switch → IN, GNDWhen active: stops all zones and latches a pressure fault.
Manual ButtonMomentary NO button → IN, GNDEach press toggles AUTO ↔ MANUAL mode.
Fault InputExternal fault relay → IN, GNDLatches fault and stops all zones while active.
Master FlowMaster meter pulse → IN, GNDCounts total system flow across all zones.
📅 Scheduling

Each zone supports up to 8 schedules. Every schedule has a start time, duration (seconds), and a weekday bitmask.

DayBit valueDayBit value
Sunday1Thursday16
Monday2Friday32
Tuesday4Saturday64
Wednesday8Every day127

Examples: Mon–Fri = 62  |  Weekends = 65  |  Mon/Wed/Fri = 42

💡 Schedules require WiFi for NTP time sync. GMT offset for South Africa is 7200 s (UTC+2). The current device time is shown on the dashboard and I/O page.

Schedules skip automatically when: rain sensor active, system fault latched, or controller in MANUAL mode.

🔧 Troubleshooting
SymptomLikely CauseFix
Zone runs but valve doesn't openValve wiring or wrong terminalCheck CH/COM/NC. Most solenoids: NO–COM. Verify 24VAC supply to valve.
Rain inhibit stuck ONSensor still wet or wiring faultCheck IN wiring. If no sensor is fitted, set that input to Disabled in Settings.
Schedule not runningNo NTP sync or wrong timezoneEnsure WiFi connected. Check GMT offset. Verify weekday bitmask includes today.
Flow reads 0 with meter connectedWrong input function or K-factorAssign input as Flow Meter in Settings. Check K-factor value.
Analog reads wrong valueWrong scale or wrong terminalVI1/VI2 = 0–10V, II1/II2 = 4–20mA. Adjust min/max in Settings.
